The image that I will always clearly recall is that of the two girls, cousins by birth yet best friends and sisters out of love, diving into the pool on a mission of great importance: that of rescuers in pursuit of the lesser critters of nature whose misfortune it was to have landed so precariously in the waters of our backyard pool.
Upon spotting a cricket or a beetle being conveyed on a leaf in the direction of the swirling waters of the filter basket, Casey and Jamie, a stalwart team of determined young minds, would utter an almost synchronized squeal and plunge into the often chilling waters on their quest.
